Tim’s investment focus has been shaped by his extensive business experience over twenty five years creating, growing, and financing entrepreneurial firms. His investments target medical technology, health IT, and healthcare services that disrupt traditional models for care delivery, improve accessibility, and drive efficiency. Tim has led investments and held board seats in more than fifteen portfolio companies during his tenure with Arboretum. His exited investments include Accuri, HealthMedia, Inogen (Nasdaq: INGN), and IntelliCyt.

Before co-founding Arboretum, Tim helped establish the Zell Lurie Institute (ZLI) for Entrepreneurial Studies at the University of Michigan, serving as its Managing Director. The Institute has been consistently ranked as one of the top three entrepreneurship programs in the country. He also directed the activities of the Wolverine Venture Fund, which focuses on early-stage life science and technology investments. Prior to ZLI, Tim was a manager in the investment banking practice at Plante Moran and served as a management consultant at Industrial Economics in Cambridge, MA. Tim currently serves as an advisory board member for ZLI and the Wolverine Venture Fund. He is also chair-elect for the University Musical Society, the nation’s oldest presenting arts organization.

Tim holds a BA in Economics from Williams College, an MS in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
